We, AVC, are so excited to be able to finally announce that – Yes! A café is coming to the Arts Village!
AVC, or “The Art’s Village Café”, will occupy a beautiful gallery space within one of Rotorua’s most iconic, heritage buildings. Well-loved, and already frequented by so many, this is a special place, and a completely unique venue.
Our philosophy
The Café will bring a timely and much-needed burst of energy to the Village, and will operate surrounded by ever-changing art, in all forms, from both local and international exhibitors. Ultimately AVC hopes to provide a simple and relaxed space where your creativity can thrive.
We are collaborating with lots of local suppliers, like our friends at Revolver Coffee, the Bread Asylum, the Mistress of Cakes etc. We're keen to keep it local!
Food and Drink Menu
AVC serves a mixture of simple traditional, and slightly unusual food and drink, (no eggs benny here), and the backbone of our menu being daily sandwiches, soups and salads.
Above all though, the café has good ethics at its heart - committed to buying local, seasonal produce; using organic, free-range, and fairly traded goods wherever possible; building great relationships with customers and suppliers; minimising all waste, and ideally employing some staff that may be considered disadvantaged.
